Breakfast is by far my favorite meal of the day…especially on the weekends! I’m sure I don’t have to remind you about the nutritional value of breakfast. Studies show that starting your day with a well balanced breakfast of both carbs and lean protein will kick-start and rev-up your metabolism, ultimately stablizing your appetite, helping to lessen cravings for the rest of the day. I find that by starting my week-days with fruit and yogurt(always a must!), along with a hearty bowl of oatmeal, or a high-fiber cereal mixture, I’m less likely to reach for multiple snacks throughout the day, or crave junk food early on, since my hearty breakfast holds off my hunger for prolonged periods of time.

Since I’m essentially chained to a desk 5 days out of the week, and must resort to simple breakfast choices Monday thru Friday, the weekends are where I go crazy about breakfast! Making wholegrain pancakes, omlettes, muffins…oh it’s the small things that make my smile 🙂 I’m so excited to share some of my favorite recipes with you. Enjoy!
